Infertility | Aerated drinks and sodas are responsible for infertility?

soda-drinks for infertilityInfertility is affecting almost one person out of six and one of the most important and biggest reasons for it is sedentary lifestyle. It is a type of lifestyle with little or no physical activity. Doctors say that sedentary lifestyle being one of the biggest reasons causing infertility. Regular consumption of artificially sweetened sodas and aerated drinks may also lead to infertility in humans because these types of drinks contain an artificial sweetener, aspartame, which can disrupt the endocrine system leading to hormonal imbalance and infertility issues in women.

infertility causesAccording to a survey, it has been found that almost of the soft drinks and sodas contain aspartame which is linked to many health problems including infertility, malformations and miscarriages. This aspartame is playing the key role in making a woman infertile and not able to continue her pregnancy till 9 months. He added that excess consumption of aerated drinks leads to hormonal imbalance and fluctuation that causes ovulatory disorders and even worsens PMS (Premenstrual symptoms). According to experts, the phenylalanine and aspartic acids are the two amino acids present in aspartame considered natural and harmless when eaten in combination with other amino acids and when they are taken un-accompanied, it stimulates the generation of free radicals which leads to cell death.

Pregnancy-MiracleExperts say that sperm and ovum, being cells, have 90 per cent chances of dying when these type of drinks are consumed in excess. It is advised by many doctors and experts to avoid anything that helps in the formation of free radicals in the body for the significance of reproductive health. Consumption of sugary aerated drinks restrains the immune system causing weight gain and hormonal imbalance, which strongly contributes to fertility issues. According to a research, it has been found that soda highly acidic beverage, which alters the pH level of the body with excess consumption. When aerated drinks and sodas are consumed in higher amount by men due to lack of nutrients in a high pH atmosphere, sperm cells either get harmed leading to its abnormal shape and poor quality or eventually die.

get pregnantMoreover, according to a research it has been found that -A (BPA), a chemical that reduces the male semen quality, is found in the lining of plastic bottles and most canned drinks and goods. Men who consume soft drinks more often are at 4 times the risk of lowering their sperm count, motility and concentration. Many health experts and doctors said that most of the soft drinks are caffeinated and contain fructose, which are associated with a higher risk of ovulatory disorders and infertility among women. “Caffeine is known to be a vasoconstrictor that reduces uterine blood flow thereby reducing menstrual bleeding and shortening the duration of menses. Combination of caffeine, aspartame and fructose affects the sex hormones and the hormone receptors, even leading to infertility.

Infertility treatment| First and most awaited treatment for male infertility

male infertilityInfertility is one of the significant problems, which is currently affecting tens of millions of couples worldwide. In those tens of millions of couples, around half of cases having a male factor either as a sole or contributory cause. As of now, we know that the most important reason of male infertility is asthenozoospermia which means poor/dysfunctional sperm motility. As it is a main cause of male infertility but still there is no drug that men can currently take for it to improve the chances of conception.

get pregnantInfertile couples who are trying for years to get pregnant naturally, has to rely on clinical treatments such as In vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). These both treatments are very much expensive, invasive and are not guaranteed to provide you satisfactory result.

While there is clearly an unmet need for alternative treatments for male sub fertility, so the time, efforts and resources required for drug discovery are currently exorbitant. The cellular, physical and functional properties of human spermatozoa present unique challenges to researchers and the lack of an appropriate platform to analyze potential treatments further complicates the issue. However, Scientists from the University of Dundee believe that they have taken the first steps towards developing drugs to treat infertile men.

What is HTS?

The Dundee team scientist have developed and validated a high throughput screening (HTS) method that may help to find novel agents that improve sperm function.HTS (high throughput screening) automates the experimentation process to allow researchers to quickly identify active compounds, antibodies, or genes relevant to their work. As of now, while a cure for male infertility remains some way off. The Dundee team researchers, led by Dr Sarah Martins da Silva, believe their method has removed many of the barriers towards developing drugs to treat the condition of inability of getting pregnant in men.

how to get pregnantDr Martins da Silva says that as infertility is developing day by day and male infertility is incredibly common but there is nothing we can currently prescribe in the vast majority of cases. The main problem is that we really don’t know the exact answer how to correct sperm dysfunction either. Other issue is that sperm are absolutely unique cells, designed to survive outside the body and hugely specialized to swim, find and fertilize an egg. They are small and have virtually no cytoplasm, and the cell signaling pathways can be unlike other cells. As a result, sperm are incredibly challenging to study. We believe we have now taken the first steps towards helping millions of couples worldwide.

As we all know that alterations in intracellular calcium are fundamental to sperm function which include swimming and fertilization, and that fluctuations in calcium are due, in large part, to a sperm-specific channel named CatSper (Cation channel of sperm). So, with the lack of knowledge of a known specific molecular or receptor target, compound library high-throughput screening (HTS) is an alternative approach that has developed in recent decades.

getting pregnantHowever, Dr Martins da Silva and her colleagues worked with the University’s Drug Discovery Unit (DDU) to create a high-throughput assay platform to monitor intracellular calcium responses in sperm as a surrogate for sperm motility. Dr Martins da Silva says that it enabled us to identify hit compounds, which we were able to test on sperm and saw improved functional motility. We noticed enhanced functional motility when we tested two of the compounds on patient samples, which are exciting and hugely relevant for patients, albeit this is still very early days. As sperm-specific channel named CatSper (Cation channel of sperm) is unique to sperm, identifying a therapeutic compound for it potentially avoids systemic side-effects and making these candidates very attractive both clinically and commercially. After conclusion that high-throughput screening (HTS) can robustly and efficiently identify novel compounds that increase intracellular calcium in human spermatozoa and improve function, the researchers propose to use it as a cornerstone to drive forward drug discovery for male sub-fertility. This news was published online by the Human Reproduction journal.

Infertility | How 25 Million of women have no access of Infertility Treatment? | U.S.A

infertilityInfertility is one of the biggest problems for today’s generation but there are several ways to cure it. Many men and women around us are not able to conceive fast and naturally after several attempts but they find the ways to get pregnant and have their own babies. The study Dr. John Harris, of the University of Pittsburgh says that Infertility is a very difficult situation for couples to face emotionally and financially. Dr. John Harris is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Pitt’s School of Medicine. According to a new research from the University of Pittsburgh shows that nearly 40 percent of women approximately 25 million, who are in their  reproductive age, in the United States have limited or no nearby access to assisted reproductive technology which is also known as (ART) clinics. These clinics provide services that are vital to many women who want to become pregnant. The Results of the study were published in Fertility & Sterility.

pregnancy-miracle-book-downloadInfertility survey which is based on geography shows that many couples who are trying to start families may have only one clinic nearby where they seek these services, and many women with infertility do not have any nearby access to these services at all which adds additional anxiety and tension during an already stressful time of life. Dr. John Harris has explained this situation in a university news release. While basic infertility evaluations and ovulation induction treatments can be performed by a woman’s obstetrician/gynecologist, advanced procedures such as in-vitro fertilization are provided only by more specialized providers in ART clinics. The authors if the study Dr. John Harris M.D., M.Sc., and Marie Menke, M.D., M.P.H., both assistant professors of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Pitt’s School of Medicine and Magee-Women’s Hospital of UPMC, together with co-authors from the University of Michigan, used federal data on infertility clinics and where women live to evaluate/assess women’s access to infertility care in the U.S.

pregnancy miracleData taken from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to locate 510 ART clinics in the United States and population data from the 2010 U.S. Census, the research team determined that 18.2 million women aged in 20 to 49 years old which is about 29 percent of that population—live in metropolitan areas but they don’t have easy access of assisted reproductive technology (ART) clinics. Another 6.8 million women—or nearly 11 percent of the 20 to 49 year old population—live in areas with only a single assisted reproductive technology ART clinic, and are without choice of a provider. The remaining 60 percent of the population, or 38.1 million women, live in census regions with multiple ART clinics, allowing them to seek assisted reproductive technology ART services from a provider of their choice. Using federal government data, the researchers pinpointed the locations of 510 ART clinics nationwide.

pregnancy-miracleAccording to Dr. John Harris, the study author, Infertility is by itself a very frustrating condition for couples and the family members and it becomes more frustration when they see there is no way to treat their this inability means lack of access of assisted reproductive technology (ART) clinics. Now further research is needed to answer the questions such as how far patients are willing to travel for infertility treatments, how much time and money patients are willing to give for such services; and how these factors interact with other issues such as race, socioeconomic status and age, the researchers said.

how to get pregnantSo above written research is based on the geographic factors that shows that infertility has spread all over the world and millions of men and women are suffering through this condition. Many are able to treat their inability but many are there who cannot treat their infertility due to lack of access of assisted reproductive technology (ART) clinics. So, if you are one of them who have less facility to reach your assisted reproductive technology (ART) clinics, you can come here and use our natural and holistic ways to treat your all type of fertility related issues. Sperm quality and infertility

pregnancy-miracleAccording to a research, it has been found that there are various exercise regimens which can affect on overall sperm quality. This observation was published in the journal “Reproduction”. It has been found that 1 out of 6 couples gets difficulties in getting pregnant due to any type of male or female infertility and 1 in 3 couples find themselves unable to get pregnant just because of poor semen quality. These couples who are going through the infertility phase due to poor semen quality, has only in vitro fertilization (IVF) option as the solution of their childless life. Poor quality of sperm leads to increase the risk of miscarriage, birth defects, and childhood cancer. So here are some natural and most effective ways are given which will help you increase sperm quality for the sake of your health and well being of current and future generations.

infertilityGenerally, in order to improve sperm quality advice given to men are eating well, reduction of alcohol consumption, no smoking and regular exercise. Anyway, these are the standard mantra but according to some evidence, the impact of exercise on sperm quality has been contradictory. Some studies shows that that intense exercising such as endurance cycling and long-distance running can reduce the quality of sperm but some other studies have found that certain types and duration of exercise have a positive impact on sperm quality. According to a team of scientists, from Uremia University in Iran, set out to investigate the effects of exercise intensity on a range of sperm parameters. They included 261 healthy men, aged 25-40, in the study. At baseline, none of the men followed a regular exercise plan or did more than 25 minutes of exercise more than 3 days each week. These men were split into four experimental groups:

  • Moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) – running on a treadmill for 25-30 minutes, 3-4 days per week
  • High-intensity continuous training (HICT) – running on a treadmill for 50 minutes-1 hour, 3-4 days per week
  • High-intensity interval training (HIIT) – 1-minute bursts of treadmill sprinting followed by 1 minute of recovery, repeated 10-15 times
  • Control group – no exercise.get pregnant

The each routine was followed for 24 weeks. Semen samples were evaluated before, during, and after the exercise period to assess sperm count, motility (the ability of the sperm to move), morphology (size and shape), levels of inflammatory markers, and their response to oxidative stress. The role of oxidative stress – specifically reactive oxygen species – is a growing area of focus in fertility research. Although reactive oxygen species are vital in the fertilization process under normal conditions, if they are not under tight physiological control, they can negatively impact the overall quality of sperm.how to get pregnant

Exercise impact on semen quality

All exercise groups, when compared with the control group had improved sperm quality across all measures. The best performing of the three experimental groups was the MICT exercise group when compared with the control group. The men in MICT group had:

  • 8.3 percent more semen volume
  • 12.4 percent higher sperm motility
  • 17.1 percent improved sperm cell shape/morphology
  • 14.1 percent more concentrated sperm
  • 21.8 percent more sperm cells.getting pregnant

These results are impressive, but the changes were not long term. Measures of sperm count, shape, and concentration dipped back toward pre-training levels 1 week after the exercise regimen had ended; sperm motility dropped back after 30 days. However, according to the authors, loss of weight during the exercise plan might well have been an important factor in the improvement of sperm quality. They also believe that MICT had a particularly positive effect by reducing the teste’s exposure to inflammatory agents and oxidative stress. The next step for the Iranian scientist’s team will be to see if these measurable changes in sperm quality will translate into an increased ability to fertilize. As further research is conducted to back up these findings, in the future, sperm-specific training packages could hopefully be designed, raising the chances of fertilization without medical intervention. The lead author of this study Behzad Hajizadeh Maleki says that “Our results show that doing exercise can be a simple, cheap, and effective strategy for improving sperm quality in sedentary men. However, it’s important to acknowledge that the reason some men can’t have children isn’t just based on their sperm count. So, first you need to diagnose what exactly you have the problem and then after try to solve it with the medical or natural help.

  1. Feeling about the situation- This is the correct time to be really open and infertility-solutionhonest with your partner. Which kind of feeling you have about the situation, you need to let it out even the anger and frustration. According to experts, studies show that couples who hide their feeling are more likely to get affected with stress and infertility.
  2. Options you are comfortable with- Often the fertility treatment options presented to a couple are based off of a medical diagnosis. Some couples will need to decide if they’re OK with one being the biological parent, and the other one not. Some will need to decide if not getting pregnant is OK, and surrogacy is an option. It’s an important notice that fertility treatments and IVF aren’t the only options. Adoption might be on the list. The National Association of Infertility reminded couples that adoption is a life-long commitment and there are choices like open or closed adoption, domestic or international but you need to explore it during the decision making process.
  3. Lifestyle changes need to be made- In order to increase fertility naturally, health considerations are necessary. If a person is not eating as healthy as they should, if someone drinking alcohol or smoking. According to Dr. Monya De of Proactive Health in Santa Monica, “actions that improve the couple’s overall health will increase the likelihood of conception.” Beyond possible health-related lifestyle changes, Dr. Monya De also suggested that couples should examine their professional lives like if one partner work crazy hours or travel a lot for work? “Will this same partner be missing during “fertile windows?” Dr. Monya De asks hypothetically. Though she says most of the lifestyle changes will be temporary and they may be very bold in the beginning.pregnancy-miracle-book-download
  4. Money need to spend- According to the National Infertility Association, the average cost of in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle is $12,400. Some health insurance companies pay portions of treatments, some don’t at all. It’s important to talk about how much your treatments options will cost and come up with a solid plan to pay for them.
  5. Will tell other people?- A large number of couples who are unfortunately infertile, feels guilty and shame to share this topic, according to The National Infertility Association. Infertility | Why mental health are unaddressed with fertility issues?

Infertility treatment | 8 Early signs of male and female infertility.

Infertility | Why mental health are unaddressed with fertility issues | California

depression during infertilityInfertility is the biggest problem in all over the world but it is more serious in United States. One out of eight couples is infertile due to any reason in United States. According to a new study, it has been found that men or women who are going through the treatment of their fertility issues are often get affected by symptoms of depression or anxiety but very few of them get any type of formal help. According to this new study, that followed patients at five different fertility clinics in California. They found that more than half of women and one third of men had clinical level symptoms of depression at some point. In addition, seventy six percent of women and sixty one percent of men are getting affected by the symptoms of clinical anxiety. But only about one quarter of all patient said that they have been provided with information on mental health resource.

infertilityLead researcher of this study and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, Lauri Pasch said that “It was very surprising to find that. According to many previous studies, it has been found that people who are going through the pain of infertility are often feeling distressed. Pasch said that the professional group has underscored the need for infertile patients and they said the emotional health is very important to be addressed. According to Pasch, it seems like they are doing a terrible job. One in eight couples in United States has trouble getting pregnant naturally or sustaining a pregnancy according to Resolve: The National Infertility Association.

Infertility treatment

Get-Pregnant-FastInfertility treatment options are several from medicines that stimulate the ovulation to IVF (in vitro fertilization). Pasch says, all these treatment often takes more than one cycle of treatment and if patients are emotionally distressed, they may give up when they still have a shot at success. This is the only reason why fertility doctors and clinics should pay attention towards mental health of infertile patient. Dr. Brooke Hodes-Wertz, of the NYU Langone Fertility Center in New York City, also agreed at this point and said there is no secret that many patients who are infertile are emotionally distressed. Hodes-Wertz were not involved in this study said that it should be a routine for patients to be asked about any history of depression before beginning the treatment of infertility.

pregnancy-miracle-book-downloadHodes-Wertz said that there’s clearly room for improvement which is based on the current findings. In this study, researchers included 352 women and 274 men seen at one of five San Francisco-area fertility clinics. The participants were interviewed before starting treatment, and again four, 10 and 18 months later. The team of Pasch found that most of the patients suffered from clinical level depression or anxiety at some point but the higher odds were there, who have failed to conceive after treatment. But only 27 percent of women and 24 percent of men said that they have offered information on mental health services at fertility center but who has the symptoms of mental illness were no more likely to receive that kind of help. Ultimately, only 21 percent of women and 11 percent of men have received some type of mental health care or therapy showed by this ne finding.

infertility-solutionAccording to Hodes-Wertz, the patient interviews were done more than a decade ago and “hopefully. We’ve made progress since then. She added that these findings did not particularly surprise her for one thing is that there is a “big time crunch” during fertility clinic visits, which is a barrier to evaluations of mental health. If patients are recognized with mental health illness, they are not able to get mental health therapy in addition to their fertility treatment and of course there is extra cost. Many insurance plans don’t cover fertility treatment and patients are paying for it themselves and can’t afford mental health treatment on top of that. Pasch says that the solution of this problem is that clinics should have a mental health professional on site and so that patients may receive the mental health therapy as a “normal” part of addressing infertility.

Getting pregnant and success rate of infertility treatment should not be on the focus but we need a change in the culture at fertility clinics. Pasch said. “We also need to address the question, ‘How do we help patients through this?’ “. As for now, she has advice for people who are undergoing treatment of their fertility and are feeling an emotional toll: Talk to your doctor and ask what kinds of services are available, either at the clinic itself or in your community. This report was first published in the July issue of the journal Fertility and Sterility by Pasch and her colleagues.

If you Get-Pregnant-Fasthave irregular or non-existence period, it must be linked with your fertility health. In order to have regular periods, the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in the brain, along with the ovaries, must work together. But if they fail in working together, it means there is some hormonal imbalance which could lead to irregular periods. Dr. Jason M. Franasiak, a board-certified OB-GYN and a board-certified technical supervisor in embryology and andrology at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey in Marlton says that irregular or absent periods represents the fact that there are some issues with regularly production of eggs and that can be a clear cause of infertility. According to a survey, it has been found that between 5 and 10 percent of women who are dealing with the difficulties in getting pregnant because of heavy periods. Heavy periods can occur due to uterine fibroids. Some women have painful periods which could be due to endometriosis. This is a condition that also linked with the problem of reproductive system. 2. Vision problems and clumsiness- Brian Levine says that if you are feeling that your vision is not as strong as it seem to be and you are suddenly feeling clumsiness and you are also getting problems with your monthly cycle, it could be the sign of prolactinoma. It is a non-cancerous tumor on the pituitary gland that can affect your reproductive system. Levine explains that the pituitary gland makes follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) which regulates the ovaries and egg production. Yet since the pituitary gland sits directly on the optic chiasm— the point in the brain where the optic nerves in the eyes cross over— the prolactinoma can push down on the chiasm and push the cells that make follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) together, which in turn affects your vision. If your physician finds that you have elevated prolactin level, he/she may order an MRI of your head to see the exact size of tumor. If the size of tumor or prolactinoma is small, it can be treated with medication while larger ones will require surgery to remove it. After treatment, your periods should return to normal and you will have better chances of getting pregnant.Pregnancy-Miracle

The symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) are irregular periods, sudden weight gain and acne.

  2. You should ask your doctor to fully investigate you to see if a cause can be found for your infertility that might avoid complicated treatment and advice you on whether waiting for a long time has good chance of increasing your chances of getting pregnant. Some doctors go straight and directly to the treatment without doing adequate investigations including ultrasound, radiology, surgery or blood testing. 3. Ask about your options which are open to you other than IVF and what you can do to avoid expensive and complicated treatment or maximize your chances of conception. These options can be waiting longer, changing diet, optimizing weight, stopping smoking or drugs, timing intercourse, and offering other treatments, including ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination.
  4. Ask, if you undergo IVF, what are your chances of having single healthy baby in first attempt? Ask about the result based on your age, diagnosis and that clinic’s actual results declared to a central reporting body rather than a generic figure for all their clinics and all ages. You will have to understand that you are not quoted a “cumulative” figure, which includes all frozen embryos over several additional cycles.
